Kosciusko County
Kosciusko County
was organized in 1836 and named after Thaddeus
Kosciuszko, a Polish Noble who fought with George Washington in the
Revolutionary War. The town seat is Warsaw, named for Warsaw, Poland
where Thaddeus Kosciusko was born. The county is divided into 17
townships: Scott, Jefferson, Van Buren, Turkey Creek, Etna, Prairie,
Plain, Tippecanoe, Harrison, Wayne, Washington, Franklin, Seward, Clay,
Monroe, Lake and Jackson.
