Lakeview Cemetery
Settlement began in Lake Township in May 1837, when the family of Jacob Rhoades located here.
The town of Silver Lake, originally Silver Lakeville was not platted until  March 8, 1859 by Jacob Paulus. By this time however, the town already had a steam saw mill and general store.
The first child born in Silver Lakeville was Enoch Rhoades, son of John and Catherine Rhoades. He was born in October, 1837.
Lakeview Cemetery in Silver Lake, Indiana is located just off of State Road 15 on Myrtle Glen Road. Recently, a lot of work has been done there, and the cemetery is really looking beautiful.
The Southwest section of Lakeview Cemetery is the oldest section. Headstones date back to the mid 1850's. The oldest stone I found was dated 1854.
For the website, I divided the cemetery into 6 sections for easier navigation.
